Ferncliff offers traditional Sri Lankan food and a selection of Western Dishes with locally sourced ingredients, including herbs and vegetables from the Ferncliff gardens. We have a selection of soups, main courses and homemade desserts, including a very popular homemade ice cream that will keep you coming back for more. We also have a selection of in-betweens that include herbed and crumbed sweet potato fries, waffles, scones, and other delights. Our Ferncliff High Tea – a handpicked BOPF, complete with freshly baked scones, roast beef sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, homemade ginger biscuits and all requisite trimmings, such as fresh cream and Franciscan strawberry jam, is also very popular. It’s prepared with a host of spices including roasted fenugreek seeds, cinnamon and goraka – a souring and thickening fruit paste similar in flavour to tamarind – plus the usual mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chilli powder and fragrant curry leaves.
